Inside Out Beauty- Glowelle
I am a total believer in taking the inside out approach to beauty. If things are screwed up inside of your body, it’s going to manifest on your skin in one way, shape or form and no matter what skin care products you use- you’ll never achieve the perfect skin that you crave. There are an abundance of beauty supplements on the market but who really wants to pop a pill? Borba came out with creative ways to push his supplements such as gummy bears and fruity drinks- these are sold at skinstore.com and beauty.com from $20 to $100.

Now enter Glowelle, a beauty drink dietary supplement that helps fight the signs of aging from within (according to their marketing info). Many of the ingredients in the drink have clinical studies showing their effectiveness against free radicals and provide the vitamins necessary for biological processes that relate to cell renewal and tissue repair. Things like pomegranate, lycopene, grape seed extract, selenium, quercetin, lutein and pine bark have been in the eye of researchers for the past few years and most of the chatter is very positive.

I was sent a week supply of natural pomegranate lychee flavored glowelle beauty drink packets. This drink has been in my radar for a while but didn’t have the time to pick it up- needless to say I was excited when they came in and couldn’t wait to give it a go. Ok so first impressions matter and the first impression of this drink is not pretty. If any of you are True Blood fans then you would have gotten the same sick and twisted excitement that I had- as this product was deep red- and resembled a bottle of O positive synthetic blood (at least in my mind that’s how it looks). So now I wanted to try it even more but the undissolved matter floating throughout that did not want to go into solution was a bit of a turn off. Anyhoo, the first sip was almost my last because of the slight pepperish after taste so instead of sipping I downed it quickly to get it over with. It wasn’t too bad but I certainly couldn’t drink 16 oz of that in one sitting- it would take the whole day to get that down. They do suggest mixing it with juice, iced tea or smoothies- basically whatever you can tolerate.
A clinical study was done to show the effects of glowelle in women:
In 2008, fifty-six women participated in the GLOWELLE Clinical Trial. The clinical trial was overseen and reviewed by independent Dermatologists from a leading hospital institution. The goal of the clinical trial was to objectively assess the benefits on women’s skin of daily consumption of GLOWELLE. The five (5) month clinical trial began with baseline skin assessments, followed by a series of tests including Minimal Erythema Dose (MED), Blood Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) and skin biopsies.
The results of the clinical trial were statistically significant and extended the findings in previous clinical research done on individual nutrients and botanicals in the product.
- 87% of women said their skin was brighter/more radiant after drinking glowelle
- 92% of women said their skin felt smoother after drinking glowelle
- 92% of women said they felt healthier after drinking glowelle
- 84% of women said they felt more beautiful after drinking glowelle

There is a slight vitamin-y aftertaste. Adding juice definitely helps but after a while, the taste grows on you. I love it! And it does wonders for my skin!
