I don’t know one woman who wouldn’t want long and thick doe-like lashes- why do you think that we love mascara so???  There are enhancement options out there ranging from costly extremes eyelash extensions to mascaras like Lorac Lotsa Lash made with fibers to extend your lashes.  Like many of the bioactive ingredients in skin care, the trickle down theory (ingredients trickle down from pharmaceutical to beauty)  has given us another option that’s less expensive than eyelash extensions but more permanent than the mascara- a happy medium to sexy lashes- multiplEYE by tarte

A bit of trivia…Eyelash hypotrichosis is another name for having inadequate or not enough eyelashes…see skimpy lashes are a medical condition…

As most of you already know, the FDA approved the drug Latisse to be used in prescription eye last treatments.  Now there are a couple of downsides to Latisse that make goodies like multiplEYE an easy choice:

LATISSE™ solution:

  •  is only intended for the upper eye!  If you have puny bottom lashes- tough luck kiddo!
  • may cause darkening of the eyelid skin which may be reversible
  • may also cause increased brown pigmentation of the colored part of the eye which is likely to be permanent
  • It is possible for hair growth to occur in other areas of your skin that it frequently touches (great for eye brows but bad for upper lip)
  • most common side effects after using Latisse solution are an itching sensation in the eyes and/or eye redness
  • is only available in a doctors office by prescription- can we say chi ching!

But besides all of that you will be working some gorgeous lashes!  I,  however, don’t like the sound of so many side effects so I will stick with multiplEYE where the only side effects was a 152% increase of lash length.  The other stuff in the product is really just fluff- IMO- but I have seen the data for the peptide that they are using and would be willing to use it in one of my own formulations.

We’ll get into how eye lash enhancers work in another post!

Later!
