OMFG…can you tell that I watched Gossip Girl last night.  It was my very first time watching the show and so I have to ask…what in the world is going on?  There were so many characters and different turns that I almost gave up.  But my Diva Deluxe daughter, Taylor, had a background role and so I continued to watch (for her sake, of course:))  At least I got to see the namesake for our dog Chace;I have to admit- both Chace Crawford and Chace Wilson are cuties!  There was a lot of kissy face going on with those “high school” kids (I didn’t have kids like that in my high school)…anyhoo, that leads me into my post for today about Kiss My Face.

Science Behind It:

The Brightening Day Creme contains alpha arbutin, a commonly used hydroquinone replacement for lightening up dark spots and evening skin tone.  It works by a process called tyrosinase inhibition.  Tyrosinase is an enzyme that plays a pivotal role in melanin formation- if it is blocked than melanin production stops.  Keep in mind that this is not a drug and no store bought or even over-the-counter skin care cream will remove every dark spot from your skin.  Sometimes the damage is deeper in the skin where no topically applied cream can go!  Also, we have a lot of melanocytes (cells that create melanin) so the chance of all tyrosinase being inhibited is slight- you don’t have to be afraid that you will no longer have any color in your skin from using these products.  They are also using a botanical blend to help brighten up your skin.

The Intensive Night Repair Creme is loaded with natural oils and butters to re-enforce the lipids naturally found in your skin that can become damaged from free radicals.  Tocopherol helps quench the free radicals to protect your skin and prevent further damage.
