A Couple of Fave’s from the CEW Product Demonstration Goodie Bag
It’s not a big surprise that the most popular aspect of CEW’s Product Demonstration is the gracious goodie bag (albeit the bags of yesteryear were a bit more gracious). It’s safe to say that I have enough products to review for the next two months! We are big into bath and body products in my household so those were the first to be snapped up by my B. spotters-in-training. Tiffany, my soon to be 7 year old, with her “tubside spa” instantly fell in love with (as did I) Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub while my Diva Deluxe 13 year old, Taylor, opted for exfoliation for body and feet, with Whish Pomegranate Three Whishes Sugar Scrub.
I am a sucker for a great fragrance and let me tell you, Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub, in the words of Tiffany is “so Delish”! It’s a blend of lime (which usually sickens me) fused with almond. Oh my goodness, can I tell you that I kept sniffing my hand like a lunatic because the fragrance was so enticing? Now the texture was a bit weird (gooey) but it worked out because it didn’t drip much when Tiffany was applying it to my arm while doing her famous tubside arm & hand massage.
It’s a bit obvious from the name that the exfoliation is from sugar- brown sugar to be exact. But it also contains macadamia grains for exfoliation and appearance sake as well as sea salt!. To prevent your skin from drying out too much, they used glycerin, sweet almond oil, and caprylic/capric triglyceride.
My first experience with Whish Pomegranate scrub was a bit different. It smelled nice but because it was in a tube and I can’t crush a rock with my hands- I couldn’t get enough of the product out to use it. Taylor was more creative than me- she put the tube under her heel and presto- with a little foot pressure it finally came out. Fyi, I see that they sell the it in a jar as well- go for that option! So once we finally had the product in hand my perception of the product began to change. It’s very heavy texture was a perfect choice for a foot exfoliator! The fragrance was mild which is good for anyone who doesn’t like bolder fragrances.
To achieve exfoliation, Whish’s scrub contains brown sugar and bamboo powder. This scrub is a cleanser & moisturizer as well and uses surfactants, decyl glucoside and sodium lauroyl oat amino acids (both naturally derived), for cleaning and shea butter, sunflower oil, and isopropyl myristate for refatting your skin (add fat i.e. oils removed during the cleaning process back to your skin).
I have to vote for my favorite products to become finalists for CEW Beauty Awards. If I have not mentioned it to you yet- I LOVE MY BEAUTY INDUSTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
