If you are expecting a traditional shampoo that requires wetting your hair, squeezing out the shampoo and working up a lather then you’ll either be surprised or disappointed with Green Rootine! The lathering is already done for you with its self foaming pump and the spearmint/citrus/rosemary blend gently cools and refreshes your scalp. Green Rootine (I love the name:-D) is a natural product that doesn’t contain a lot of fillers; it’s one of the few shampoos on the market with fewer than ten ingredients listed! This shampoo doesn’t contain the typical surfactants used in normal shampoos. So how does it clean? SOAP! Yes, you’re more likely to find this cleansing agent in natural soap bars.
Science Behind it:
The primary surfactant (cleansing agent, detergent) used in Green Rootine is saponified Cocos Nucifera (coconut) which is coconut oil reacted with sodium hydroxide to form soap. Green Rootine does contain natural oils to refat (replace) the oils stripped from your hair during the cleansing process. FYI, squeaky clean hair is oil stripped hair!
