Soothe Dry Itchy Skin with Butter Cream
The cold weather is here and I am not a happy camper! Sure I get to flaunt great boots and rock fancy outerwear but I often wonder if it is worth suffering the cold **sigh** One of the things that really irritates me is how dry my skin gets. I’m sitting here typing this now resisting the urge to scratch off layers of skin because my clothes have sucked up every last bit of moisture- except for my legs. Why are my legs not affected you may be wondering? I tried a new moisturizer from Neutrogena called Deep Moisture Comforting Body Cream. Ladies, this cream is not too heavy, applies easy and has a delectable butter cream scent. Now I must admit, I do apply right out of the shower (still wet) and then again before I get dressed so I most likely do more steps than the average person- but hey, it works and so I’m sticking to it! The Comforting Body Cream is part of a line that also contains a body wash and hand cream.
The Science Behind It: Neutrogena Comforting Body Cream is a cationic (positively charged) emulsion. As you probably already know-opposites attract- so this positively charged cream will stick to your skin (we call it “substantive”). It contains dimethicone, a silicone emollient, that coats the skin and makes it silky smooth while the cocoa, mango and shea butters leave it buttery soft (no pun intended)!
