Extremely Kissable Lips with Sugar & Butter
Okay, so winter is quickly upon us and one (of the many) things that I detest about that season is dryness. Dry skin, dry hair and dry lips! Did you ever try to hold a conversation with someone only to be distracted by a huge piece of dry skin flapping back and forth with every word. Or have your lips ever been so dry that they cracked when you smiled and you had to lick your lips every 10 seconds to keep the scales from being visible? If you have your own dry lip testimony then Jane Iredale has the answer to dry lip prayers! It’s a chic little dual end product Sugar&Butter that has a sugar based exfoliator on one end and a moisturizing lip plumper on the other. Now, some of you may be saying to yourselves “I do not need a lip plumper”- trust me, I have a nice and full set of lips and the plumper only enhanced my sexy pout! It’s not an extreme plumper but just enough to plump without feeling like you just had an injection and there is no irritation. The exfoliator smooths off the rough skin and the plumper soothes and moisturizes leaving your lips in kissable condition. Now there’s a winter that I can tolerate!
Science behind it: The lip exfoliator contains large granular sugar in a base of natural oils (macadamia, sunflower seed, avocado, and jojoba). The structure of the exfoliator is acheived with beeswax, carnauba wax and candelilla wax (the same that you would see in a typical lipstick). The natural oils are kept intact with tocopherol; this is a true antioxidant that prevent the oils from turning rancid.
The lip plumper has the same base waxes as the exfoliator for structure. In addition to the natural oils previously mentioned, it contains shea butter for increased moisturization. Palmitoyl Oligopeptide is the pucker power behind the plumper. It works over the course of about one month by stimulating collagen production and hyaluronic acid synthesis. The tingling stimulating sensation upon application is from the flavor blend of ginger and mint.
