Definite Dewy Perfection Thanks to Olay Definity
It never fails. I open up the latest issues of Allure, In Style and Essence magazines and always wish that I could have the same perfectly airbrushed skin as the models. I know that the look is fabricated but still a girl can still dream, can’t she? Well guess what, I have found a product that gives a similar look- no photoshop required! Olay Definity Facial Lotion helps camouflage my imperfections without having to layer on makeup. Now granted, if you require major work than this product alone will not do the trick but it may prevent you from having to cake on concealer. I am not a big foundation user; (as my skin resembles an oil slick) so the only coverage that i get is from a pressed powder when I feel like using it. Definity Facial Lotion has an SPF of 15 with broad spectrum coverage (I prefer a 30 but this will do), it moisturizes without feeling heavy and it imparts a dewy glow that people actually notice and comment on (even the hubby noticed and mentioned how clear and even my skin looks). The finish is light and doesn’t look artificial; I’m ready for my close up now!
The science behind it: Definity Facial Lotion contains a number of ingredients that jump starts biological processes that slow with age or too much fun in the sun sans protection. Glucosamine is a simple sugar that stimulates production of hyaluronic acid (wonderful goo-like substance found in your skin that’s responsible for many important functions) that can hold water in your skin and keep it from escaping resulting in improved hydration.
Niacinamide is water soluble vitamin B3 that data showing that it can stimulate collagen production, regulates lipids (oils) on the skin to improve barrier function (fancy talk for improving the skins ability to keep moisture), and reduce hyperpigmentation (unwelcome dark marks that plague many People of color). The two ingredients, glucosamine and niacinamide, work together to increase moisturization which will inheritantly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (think of a grape vs a raisin) and even out your skin tone. The immediate effect is achieved by a combination of soft focus and effect pigments blur imperfections and reflect the light for a flawless and dewy finish.
The choice of avobenzone as a UV absorber makes this product a broad spectrum sunscreen. What makes a sunscreen broad spectrum is that it absorbs in both the UVA and UVB regions (many only absorb in the UVA). The added SPF protection will help keep hyperpigmentation minimized as the sun triggers more melanin production) and also can help the fine lines and wrinkles at bay.
